The Spirit of the Road: On and Off the Bike | Belstaff Cloudmaster 3.0 Live Brief

For the Belstaff live brief, Thomas Esteban Lawrence drew on the brand’s motorcycling heritage, applying his body-led design process to the demands of riding and everyday wear.

He developed the jacket directly on a rider, using on- and off-bike movement and wear testing to refine volume, pocket positioning, collar height, cuffs and garment length. He reinterpreted Belstaff’s check lining as a structural grid of flat-felled seams.

This portfolio brings together the research, on-bike development, wear testing, pattern development and final garments.

He was shortlisted and interviewed for Belstaff’s Cloudmaster 3.0 competition.
