The Anatomical Redesign of Menswear | BA Graduate Collection Portfolio
The Anatomical Redesign of Menswear | BA Graduate Collection
For his final BA project, Thomas Esteban Lawrence developed an anatomical pattern system directly on the body in motion. Refined through wear testing, the system uses garment geometry to accommodate movement in non-stretch woven fabrics while minimising interference.
Developed through physical and digital prototyping, the collection adapts the same underlying anatomical principles to different environmental conditions.
This portfolio brings together the finished collection and the research, wear testing, scaling, construction and technical development behind it.
He presented the project at the final of the Graduate Fashion Foundation’s 2026 Pattern Cutting Award in London. It also formed the basis of his presentation as an invited speaker at the 2026 Innovative Pattern Cutting Conference.
